The beginning of a thoughtfully bumpy ride

Welcome to The VLST Productions Blog,  where Brad and Frank research, evaluate and develop new media solutions for the medical community.

Right now, we are working with Seattle-based Prostate Cancer Survivor Groups to develop new media tools that we hope will help them in their continuing education and social networking between monthly member meetings.

At the same time, we are working with various medical organizations to find new ways to affordably generate, develop and distribute rich media programming with a strong patient advocate perspective.

We’ll be comparing online video distribution networks like Brightcove, and Google.  We’ll also be testing the usefulness of news aggregators, web widgets, and wikipedias for cancer survivors who need to ride vigilant herd on their collective medical maladies, but who also may be unfamiliar and/or unaware of the value of these new tools. We’ll also be weighing the advantages and disadvantages of web-based delivery of medical media for patients whose chief concern is quality of life, not being tied down to a computer.

It may be a bumpy ride at first, but we promise to try and keep it a thoughtfully bumpy ride.

And to begin that journey, here’s a thoughtfully bumpy perspective on the current state of cancer treatment. What Mainstream Media Doesn’t Tell You: Medical Treatment And The Business Of Disease

What do YOU think?
